Environmental awareness is slowly growing in Panama with government action to counter litter, especially of plastic, rapidly increasing. Single use plastic is a big part of the problem since it's popularity recently rose and the inhabitants weren't prepared to deal with the waste they produce. Plastic Bottle Village
The re-use of the PET bottles in construction, also known as upcycling can avoid the need to recycle the PET into clothes, therefore protecting the sea life. This is what inspires plastic bottle village, where the plastic bottles serve create a hotel ready to be used.
The construction of the castle was started by Robert, in July 2016 and completed in June 2018. It has four levels measuring 14 meters high (50 ft) and contains 40,000 PET bottles. The Castle includes two guest rooms accommodating 2 persons per room on the first floor, a Royal suite accommodating up to 6 persons on the second level, a dining/bar area on the third floor, and a gathering level with a fantastic view on the fourth. The Dungeon Jail contains 10,000 PET bottles.
