Robusta coffee is native to Vietnam. It is grown in a highland regions in Central Vietnam: Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lia, Lam Dong and Kon Tum. Robusta coffee production from these five provinces together accounts for 92% of the total national production, which is currently grown on roughly 577,000 ha. Smallholder production accounts for roughly 80-90% making the waste produced by Vietnamese coffee local and accessible matter by small owners
